Moving to Hawaii, specifically Oahu? Well look no further than the city of Mililani. Mililani is located in central Oahu. What makes Mililani so great…location, community, schools, and most of all, its beauty. In 1986, Mililani was voted an All-America City. The distinction is given by the National Civic League annually to ten cities in the United States every year to “recognize communities whose citizens work together to identify and tackle community-wide challenges and achieve uncommon results”.
Centrally located, Mililani is a quick drive from any beach, hike, or shopping center. A 20 minute drive will get you to the beautiful north shore, home of the BIG winter wave and another 45 minute drive will get you into Downtown Honolulu. As you can see, being centrally located on Oahu is ideal for convenience. Mililani is also 5-10 minutes away from your BIG BOX stores like COSTCO, Home Depot, Lowes, WalMart, Kmart, and Target but yet far enough away from the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoy the country living.
There are 7 recreation centers dedicated for the Mililani Community. Each recreation center has its own unique accommodations that include but not limited to, swimming pools, tennis courts, basketball courts, baseball fields, and covered facilities for parties or special events.
Mililani’s public schools are rated top in the State. The top ratings include elementary, middle and high school levels and the statistics are generated from parents, students, and at the State level.
At 656ft/200m, Mililani is naturally cool and breezy. The need for air conditioning is scarce and a few homes have a fire place for those cold winter months. Don’t let the cool air fool you though, Mililani still provides the beautiful sunshine that represents the State of Hawaii.
I hope you enjoyed my insight to Mililani. The next time you visit Hawaii, come and visit Mililani! A Hui Hou! (good bye, until we meet again)
